On the Hudson

A fabulous farewell to NY was a fantastic restaurant well outside the city limits called Xaviars on the Hudson.

Brunch was the time of day to celebrate, as the overflow of constant and complimentary champagne, in addition to the delectable food was almost as beautiful as the view.

Buzzing in New York

Loving NY despite the hectic family schedule. 

Spent Friday eve enraptured by the theatre and Broadway's interpretation of Almodóvar's Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. 

Met up with a favorite friend afterwards at the Intercontinental Hotel and talked the night away over drinks...

Feeding off the buzz of the evening and remembering why I fell in love with acting and this city in the first place.

A surprise birthday for my Father in Law last night and much unexpected fun watching him and his lifelong friends celebrate. I hope we still know how to party like that in 40 years.

A final celebration today at a champagne brunch, then resting up for the early flight home. 

Hope you all had an amazing holiday week! I'm excited to focus on a little cocktail party of our own and planning the outfits to go along with it. xx

Wearable Art

A few months back, my family and I had the opportunity to stay in one of the most stunning, historical, magical, old Hollywood homes in the hills.

Yes, we were house and dog sitting, but mostly it felt like a little vacation.  (More on this outfit story here.)

We were in a major transition point in our lives, moving back west side, (and me still settling into the mother role) and it was the exact kind of therapy I needed.

The art kind.

And since the owners of the home were two major players in the art and film world, their home was full of everything and anything an aspiring artist needs to get inspired!

So I invited some of my loveliest female acquaintances over and we played. And created. And got inspired.

One of my first projects was a basic white F21 tee that I decided to scatter my thoughts upon...

Then I handed it off to some more lovely girlfriends at the dinner party I hosted that evening, and they gifted my shirt with some of theirs...

Then I sent it off with my sis and she returned it with her own interpretation of that beautiful moment in time.

And it all started with a particular string of thoughts to help me wear my he(art) on my sleeve...

Vintage Florals & The Goddess Boutique

When my beautiful sister comes to visit me, it's a mad dash to catch up on any moments we've missed with each other, plan our next creative plan of attack, and check out things and places that inspire us.

True, she only lives an hour away, but when one of our hectic lives offers a free day to spare - we just get so damn excited to hang out!

And I'm also a bit spoiled because she is a truly gifted makeup artist, turning any photo shoot ops into more girly fun time.

It's like we're little girls again playing dress up. Only with professional tools.

We knew just the place to head to when a friend recommended we check out the Goddess Boutique on Lincoln. 

And the moment we stepped in, we realized why...

It was a wonderland of jewels and gems, indie designer clothing, to-die-for accessories and boots like this (for around $20!!)
